IMAP
Email is stored on our mailservers, you can connect your applications and mobile devices to the email account and sync your mail to them all from the server
Pros:
- Sync mail between all your devices and see sent, deleted and synced folders on them all.
- If your device or computer is broken, mail is saved on the server still and can be recovered.
Cons:
- mail always stored online, so mailbox is larger and may run out of space if not cleared out or more space purchased.
POP3
Email is stored on our mail servers, when you connect your outlook to the account it will download the mail to your computer then remove it from our mail server.
Pros:
- slim chance of the online mailbox filling up as mail removed from server.
- Good if you receive lots of massive emails or attachments which would fill up online space quickly.
Cons:
- local email file backup recommended as data on your local machine not our servers
- emails are viewed on each device individually and not synchronised between devices.
